Even when shuffling his cabinet to fill positions left vacant by resignations, Doug Ford was all about Donald Trump.

Ontario’s premier announced changes to his ministry on Thursday morning, saying it was the right team to push back against Trump.

“President Trump is once again taking aim at Ontario’s economy with his latest round of tariffs and anti-trade measures,” Ford said in a statement. “Ontario won’t back down. We’re preparing for the long haul, and that means putting the right team in place to protect Ontario workers and jobs.”

Most of his major portfolios, such as finance, health, education, economic development, transportation, the attorney general and the solicitor general, remained unchanged.

David Piccini moved from labour to infrastructure, Sam Oosterhoff takes on agriculture, Zee Hamid is now the minister for tourism, culture and gaming, Brian Saunderson is the new sports minister, and Kinga Surma takes over as president of the Treasury Board.
