Ben Goldsborough, MP for South Norfolk, met the Burgh St Peter Village Hall committee and locals to celebrate the installation of new solar panels and heating.

The committee was awarded the funding from the National Lottery Grant last month.

Mr Goldsborough said: "This is what local action looks like - cutting costs, supporting our shared spaces, and investing in a more sustainable future for everyone.

"Thank you to everyone who made this happen. Proud to see our villages leading the way."

The hall installed 22 solar panels, a battery, and a new air-con heating system which has helped to transform the 1860s-built hall into a warm social space.

Bern Henreck, from the Burgh St Peter village hall committee, said: "We were delighted to welcome Ben Goldsborough to come along and declare the newly refurbished village hall open."

The work was carried out by SQ1 Installations in Norwich which specialises in this type of project.
