Bungay Medical Centre had won permission from East Suffolk Council last year to add two new extensions to the site on St John's Road.

The rear single-storey extension would accommodate two new clinical rooms, and the other extension would provide a new glazed main entrance lobby.

A spokesman for the surgery said: "The next phase of the building work starts on Monday, March 2.

"A new entrance will be constructed, the existing entrance will be closed and patients will enter the building through a new door at the side of the old Boots building.

"This entrance is accessible by wheelchair via a new pathway. Our reception reception team will be on hand to help with any questions. The rest of the building is open and working as usual.

"We are very excited to welcome you to our new addition and look forward to using new consulting rooms in the next few months."

The medical practice won a £1.2m grant in 2023 to fund the extension.
