Hopes for crossing safety boosted as 'dragon's teeth' markings approved
The high-visibility markings, designed to alert drivers as they approach pedestrian crossing points, were proposed following mounting concerns about safety in Bungay.
Courtesy crossings are designed to give pedestrians priority, but drivers are not legally required to stop.
The scheme, proposed by the Bungay Traffic Forum, will cover six crossings and is expected to cost around £2,500.
It is said to offer a cheaper alternative to more formal zebra or puffin crossings, which can cost tens of thousands of pounds.
