Frustration as town toilets repeatedly misused
Harleston councillors have warned the free-to-use facilities could become inaccessible after being subject to misuse.
Staff discovered the conveniences in an unacceptable state, prompting concerns over rising maintenance costs.
Harleston Town Council said: "These facilities are free for everyone to use, and are maintained by the town council for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
"However, they can only remain pleasant and accessible if they are treated with respect."

Users have also been urged to take care when using soap dispensers, taps, and door handles, which have previously been broken through excessive force.
The council also said its cleaning and maintenance team work hard to keep the toilets safe and "acts of vandalism or careless behaviour only increase costs" and could impact the service it provides.
Locals who notice any issues, damage, or maintenance concerns are encouraged to report them to the town council by calling 01379 854519 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 10am to 1pm or emailing enquiries@harleston-tc.gov.uk anytime.
