Here are five of our underrated favourites:
1. Under The Pier Show, Southwold’s surreal secret arcade

Where: North Parade, Southwold, IP18 6BN
Tucked away at the landward end of Southwold Pier is the eccentric Under The Pier Show, a collection of handmade, interactive machines that feels more art installation than amusement arcade.
Created by inventor Tim Hunkin, it’s packed with contraptions such as tongue‑in‑cheek simulators and offbeat games that reward curiosity and a sense of humour.
For visitors who think they already know Southwold Pier, this is the bit they often miss. It’s an easy extra stop on a stroll along the boards, yet feels like stepping into a parallel, slightly bonkers version of the seaside.
For families, it’s a chance to let kids loose on machines they won’t see in any chain arcade, and for adults, it’s one of the best places in town to understand Southwold’s quietly quirky side.
2. Southwold Sailors’ Reading Room, a time........
