Club wants more young and female paddlers

The Eagle Canoe Club is now known as the Eagle Paddlesports Club to reflect the expanding range of opportunities available.

The name change aligns with the national governing body, now called PaddleUK, and is part of a campaign to recruit more 10 to 30-year-olds and women.

The club has received grants from Sport England and Town Close, allowing them to expand their fleet of boats.

This expansion includes stand-up paddleboards, touring boats, sea kayaks, white water canoes, and sit-ons.

Members can use the equipment during weekly Wednesday training sessions, or on weekends for local trips and other UK excursions.

The club also offers a coach development scheme.

For those interested in joining, the club holds monthly taster sessions and pool sessions.
