Turnaround challenges continue for the loss-making Southwold brewery, spirits and hospitality group but its interim trading report to the end of June reveals a few bright spots.

These include a huge boost in performance at its Bury St Edmunds shop.

The store - previously in Cornhill - has seen a fivefold increase since it moved to a new location in the Old Post Office in December.

Adnams closed its stores in Hadleigh, Frinton-on-Sea, Norwich, Saffron Walden and Stamford in May - citing financial pressures, operational challenges and changing shopping habits.

But seven remain open - including Southwold, Woodbridge, Holkham, Holt, Aldeburgh and Harleston.
