Norfolk MP launches new national political party
Rupert Lowe, MP for Great Yarmouth, announced the launch of Restore Britain at an event held inside the town's Britannia Pier theatre.
It follows the launch of his Great Yarmouth First party in December, which he said was now a "pilot project".
Mr Lowe said: "I am launching Restore Britain as a national political party.

"Restore Britain will be the national umbrella organisation.
"Great Yarmouth First will be the pilot."
Mr Lowe said the priorities of his new party included tackling illegal immigration and the asylum system.
He also voiced his support for domestic energy production and farming.
Mr Lowe also confirmed that he will run for MP again in the Great Yarmouth constituency at the next General Election.

A spokesman for Restore Britain said: "Restore Britain will field hundreds of candidates at the next General Election, drawn from outside the political establishment.

"The party will operate as a national umbrella organisation and will work alongside aligned local parties to deliver locally-led priorities."
During the event, in which Mr Lowe spoke in front of a fervent crowd, four people were introduced as Great Yarmouth First candidates to be local councillors.

Among those announced as candidates was Barry Gravenell, director and IT consultant at IT-C Support Solutions Ltd.
Born in Hemsby and now living in Gorleston, he stood as a Reform candidate in 2024 but resigned from the party following Mr Lowe's ousting from it in March 2025.

Each candidate introduced on stage said that they would donate 10pc of their salary to local causes if elected, similar to Mr Lowe's MP salary donations every month.
Mr Lowe was elected as a Reform UK MP at the July 2024 General Election before he was ousted from the party in March 2025, amid allegations he had threatened then-party chairman Zia Yusuf.
Mr Lowe denied any wrongdoing and the Crown Prosecution Service said no criminal charges would be brought against him in relation to alleged threats towards Mr Yusuf.
