Rhys Ashcroft kicked the woman and punched her seven times before a plainclothes police officer spotted what was going on and arrested him.

Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court was told the 25-year-old, who pleaded guilty to assault by beating and being drunk and disorderly in a public place, knew the woman and had received a call a shortly before about an incident involving her and his cousin.
