Council invests £600,000 to tackle yob behaviour after months of concern
The move is part of a new £600,000 investment by Breckland Council to improve its Safer Communities Programme, approved at a meeting on October 15.
The funding announcement comes after months of concern over anti-social behaviour across the district, including riotous disorder linked to asylum accommodation in Thetford and concerns raised in Dereham about crime levels.

The programme will fund a range of measures aimed at "improving safety, preventing crime, and giving residents greater peace of mind".
One key element of the scheme is the expansion of the council’s Safer Street Warden Service.
The number of wardens will increase from two to six across parts of Breckland, enabling "improved coverage across towns and rural communities".
The council says the wardens provide a visible presence on the streets, address anti-social behaviour, gather intelligence, support vulnerable people and offer reassurance to the public.
