Anthony Bullett, 77, died at the prison in Knox Road on November 9, 2025, less than three months after being taken into custody.

At a resumed hearing into his death, area coroner Maeve Sykes said the medical evidence showed Mr Bullett died from natural causes.

She said: “His death was of a natural cause but because he was in state detention at the time of his death an inquest has to be held.”

The court heard Mr Bullett arrived at HMP Norwich on August 20, 2025, where his health rapidly deteriorated.
