Terry McFadyen, 71, died after being attacked with a kitchen knife by Moses Fernandes at his home in Layer Close, Bowthorpe, Norwich, in November last year.
Fernandes, 23, was subsequently sentenced at Norwich Crown Court to an indefinite hospital order after admitting manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

Norfolk’s coroner has now confirmed the inquest into Mr McFadyen’s death will not resume, with his family indicating they do not wish any further investigations to take place.
The inquest was originally opened on November 6, 2025, three days after Mr McFadyen died.
In a written decision, the coroner confirmed that criminal proceedings had been instituted and Fernandes was detained in a medium-secure hospital under Section 37 of the Mental Health Act.
