More concerns raised over plans for new Norwich data centre

People living near the site opposite Tesco in Ipswich Road raised concerns the facility will be a noisy blight on the landscape.

One pensioner who lives closest to the plot earmarked for the building described the scheme as “a shame” that will spoil the landscape.

Bosses at Norwich Apex Ltd, the firm behind the proposals, have not submitted plans yet but said they want to build a two-storey building along with a three-storey office block, on the land.

They say the data will be a secure facility where digital information is stored and processed.

Pensioner George Greensides has known the spot where the centre will be built all his life and is worried about the continued development of the area.
