Approximately 1,875 homes lost power in the Gunton area of Lowestoft at around 8am.

In a statement, UK Power Networks said: "Our staff are checking our equipment throughout the area to pinpoint the issue on our underground cabling network.

"In addition to this, they are liaising closely with our control room to find safe and reliable ways to divert power around any problems and get everyone restored."

The company predicts the issue should be resolved between 10:30am and 11:30am.

There are 140 homes currently still affected by the power fault.
