Stuart Green will represent Toftwood on Breckland's Conservative-led council after he defeated his rivals in one of three by-elections held in Norfolk this week.

Mr Green, who sits on Dereham Town Council and was once the town's youngest ever mayor, polled 458 of the 1,010 votes cast to take the seat.

He beat Reform's candidate, Gokce Shuler, who received 369 votes, by nearly 100, and Labour's nominee, Robin Goreham, who collected 172 votes.
