Famous city landmark steeped in history to undergo first step of multi-million revamp

A £625,000 redesign of City Hall's entrance is set to begin within weeks in a bid to make the building more accessible.

Lucy Galvin, the newly elected Green leader of Norwich City Council, said the 88-year-old building "hasn't always been accessible to everyone, but that's changing".

"We're making City Hall more welcoming, inclusive and accessible. This is about creating a City Hall for all," she said.

"For the first time ever, everyone will be able to come in through the front door and work will begin in a few weeks time."
