Two men have been charged after someone criticising Norwich as a "rubbish" place to live sparked a brawl in St Peter's Street, outside City Hall, at about 7.45pm on Monday.

According to an eyewitness, the men were butting heads over the quality of the city, with one man stoutly defending it and another criticising its quality.

"One man told the other to stop slagging Norwich off, then they went off," the eyewitness said.

Both men were arrested at the scene before being taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Sean Keeble, 34, and Leigh Grant, 48, both of no fixed address, have since been charged with a Section 4 public order.

They have been bailed to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on April 21 and April 24, respectively.
