Petrol station off A47 to reopen with new Co-op inside
The Shell filling station, just off the A47 on Light Lane at Walton Highway, was originally set to reopen in February after closing for works in October.
But adverse weather conditions have pushed back the opening to March.
A spokesman for Shell said: "While we cannot provide a specific date for reopening, we can confirm works are expected to be completed with the site being reopened later this month."
The revamp will see the existing building expanded by 50sqm to make way for improved toilet facilities and more storage.
New pumps that will be fed by new underground fuel tanks are also being installed on the forecourt.
A planning statement previously said: "The offer will remain as existing, but will be provided in a more pleasant environment.
"The site has a long history as a petrol filling station dating back to 1993 and due to the age of the existing tanks on site, these are in need of an upgrade."
