The attack happened at 8pm on January 25 in St Giles Street, but the suspect was nowhere to be found when police arrived.

Officers then carried out enquiries before tracking down the man to Unthank Road.

At least five police cars attended the scene at about 10pm, parking outside Bristol House, a shared living accommodation.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of assault.

He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning before being released on bail until March 24.

The victim of the attack did not require hospital treatment.
