Major retailer shuts store in Norfolk town after more than 25 years

The Original Factory Shop, in Matsell Way, shut its doors for the last time on Saturday.

It comes after the chain entered administration at the end of January, with Interpath Advisory appointed to oversee the business.

A closing-down sale was ongoing for several weeks, with discounts of between 30pc and 60pc off all products, including clothing, gardening and electrical.

Rick Harrison, managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, previously said: "The Original Factory Shop has long been a cornerstone of local high streets up and down the country.

"Unfortunately, however, trading challenges have impacted the business such that the company had to be placed into administration.

"Over the coming weeks, we will be working closely with The Original Factory Shop's dedicated team of employees as we endeavour to operate all stores as a going concern while we assess options for the business."

The closing dates for the other Original Factory Shop stores across Norfolk remain uncertain.
