Girl pulled from water in hospital after going missing in seaside town
Police closed a stretch of Millennium Way in Lowestoft just after 4pm on Thursday as they searched for a missing teenage girl.
Eyewitnesses say they saw officers scouring through bushes on the verge of the road, but the teenager was later found in a body of water in the nearby Jenkins Green.
An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and two fire crews were then called to the scene following concerns for her welfare.
The girl was then pulled from the water by firefighters before being taken to the James Paget Hospital for further care.
Samaritans can be reached 24/7 on 116 123 for completely confidential support.
The NHS First Response Service is available 24/7 on 111 option 2, providing urgent mental health support for people in Norfolk and Suffolk.
