The invasive insect, also known as the yellow-legged hornet, poses a serious threat to pollinators and is known to eat up to 50 bees a day.

There is currently one recorded Asian hornet nest in Norfolk, somewhere near Aylsham, and one of the invasive insects was spotted in nearby Burgh on July 20.
