Adventurous brothers to take on 240-mile challenge on penny farthings
Ben and Tom Clowes will start in Bardwell, on the Norfolk and Suffolk border, and will journey 240 miles on the Rebellion Way in a loop through Norfolk.
The penny farthing was a mainstay of Victorian England, with riders relying on a small rear wheel for balance.
Ben, 51, said: "Firstly, it's such a fun bike to ride. I always say to people, riding the penny farthing is like when you learn to ride a bike for the first time, and you feel that sense of freedom, excitement and fun.
“That's how it feels to me every time I ride it, and I think it's partly because it generally puts a smile on people's faces.”
