The Walnut Tree Shades, at Old Post Office Court in the city centre, is set for revamp as designs and a new coat of paint were approved by Norwich City Council.

The approval means the boozer will receive a whole set of new signage, decorations and be repainted in a "warming" dark blue colour.

In the design statement from Stonegate, a nationwide pub company, it said: "The external decorations, using traditional paints, are to highlight the public house with a clean and warming look.
