People working in Prince of Wales Road have slammed Norfolk County Council after 338 vehicles were slapped with parking tickets from the start of this year up until the beginning of June.

The data, obtained in an FOI submitted to Norfolk County Council, the authority responsible for enforcement across the city, revealed that the figure is just shy of 380 tickets issued during 2025.

The road, which also has one of the highest crime rates in Norwich, takes the crown for the most tickets handed out in NR1 so far this year.

A spokesman from the authority said additional evening patrols were introduced in the street in September 2025, "following concerns raised by local businesses".

But furious traders blame the hike in tickets on the "extortionate" parking prices, claiming shoppers refuse to pay the fee.

To park in Prince of Wales Road for 15 minutes alone costs £1.45.
