Rare chance to ride on board 'important part of British railway history'
Visitors to the Mid Norfolk Railway on March 22 will be able to take a train journey on a Great Western Railway High Speed Train (HST) between Dereham and Wymondham.
The event is the result of a collaboration between the Mid Norfolk Railway and the ROMIC Group, which has made the HST available for one day only.

Samantha Tailor, general manager of the Mid Norfolk Railway, said: "We are extremely grateful to ROMIC for giving us this special opportunity to share with our visitors the experience of travelling on these iconic trains.
"The HSTs were such an important part of British railway history.
"I am sure the day will be a great success and everyone at the railway is looking forward to welcoming our passengers on the day."
To enhance the nostalgic experience, the Mid Norfolk Railway will also operate an onboard trolley catering service, reminiscent of those once seen on mainline HST journeys.
In recent years, the HSTs, which were originally introduced in the late 1970s, were shortened and rebranded as 'Castle sets' for secondary mainline services.

Simon Lowe, marketing and hire manager at the ROMIC Group, added: "We are delighted to be able to offer another special HST running day to the Mid Norfolk Railway following the success of our running day last year.
"We hope to see it in use for many more years to come, either in the UK or abroad."
The HST, which has recently been relocated from GWR’s Laira depot in Plymouth, is the final one to leave the south west after the trains were withdrawn from service.
The ROMIC Group now maintains a base at Dereham Yard.
Tickets are available on the Mid Norfolk Railway website now.
