Planning is already under way for the event, which has been held on the last weekend in July ever since its first outing in 1966.

The big weekend falls on July 25 and 26 this year, when the usual village population is set to swell to 10 times its normal size.

Entertainment lined up includes galloping horses, BMX stunt riders, dog agility, live music, a chef theatre, fairground rides and BRICKcon for LEGO fans.

There will also be more than 100 artisan craft stalls and a wide array of food concessions, plus a well-stocked bar.

The 14th century church will host the flower festival, singers, weavers and a café.

Festival chair, Jane Bond, praised the volunteers at the recent AGM following last year's event.

"I am delighted to share that we were able to distribute £35,000 to local charities and clubs," she said.

"This is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the community spirit that defines the festival and one I am so proud to be involved in."

Saturday will feature vintage tractors and classic cars on display, as well as heavy horses, which have their own show ring and will parade in the main ring on Sunday.

Music lovers can look forward to a headline set from Agent Orange on Saturday night.

Other activities include the Westover Dog Show, bouncy castles, a petting farm and a children’s craft tent.

The festival kicks off on Friday evening with the Worstead Five Mile run and opens to the public at 10am on Saturday with music from The City of Norwich Pipe Band.

Entry prices are £10 per day or £15 for the weekend, with free entry for children under 16 if accompanied by an adult.
