7 coastal cafés in Norfolk that are worth the drive this spring
Here are some of the top-rated spots in Norfolk to enjoy a coffee and a slice of cake by the coast.
1. The White Horse Bakery

Since opening in April 2025, The White Horse Bakery has quickly become a top destination for those hunting down some of the best artisan bread and Viennoiserie the county has to offer.
There are also breakfast and lunch menus, including filled croissants, smashed avocado on sourdough and toasties.
Customers can enjoy their treats inside the converted 19th-century barn or get them to take away, with the rolling dunes of the north Norfolk coast just a short walk down the road.
2. Whelk Coppers Tea Rooms

Travel experts at the Daily Mail recently released a ranking of 25 of the best beach cafés or restaurants in the UK.
Whelk Coppers Tea Rooms in Sheringham was included, with the "fantastic atmosphere of the café and the heritage of Sheringham" making this the place to be, according to the experts.
Its wrought iron gates were reputedly designed by Walt Disney, which adds "a touch of showbiz" to the beach café.
3. Old Town Beach Café

The Old Town Beach Café is one of the most popular in Norfolk and has even been hailed among the best in the country.
At the end of last year, the spot was named one of the EDP's favourite eateries for 2025, and last April, The Guardian named the café as one of the best eateries on the coast in the UK.
4. Norfolk Tea Co. at Wiveton Hall Café

The Norfolk Tea Café and Tea Room started serving customers at the site near Blakeney last April.
There is an extensive specialist tea menu, locally roasted coffee, cakes and savouries on offer, as well as a retail shop selling local produce.
The café is open from 10am to 5pm daily, is dog-friendly and there is lots of space for children to play.
5. Two Magpies Bakery

Two Magpies Bakery has plenty of sites around Norfolk and Suffolk, including a harbourside café in nearby Wells-next-the-Sea.
Overlooking the quay in Blakeney, this location is in the heart of a foodie haven and is a great spot from which to wander out to the coast or take a boat trip to Blakeney Point to see the seals.
6. Jay Jay's at the Beach

Jay Jay's at The Beach in Gorleston is a favourite haunt of Loose Women panellist Janet Street-Porter, who has raved about the site on live television.
The café shared a video of her on their social media, saying: "Even Janet Street-Porter loves our breakfasts by the sea!
"Join us soon - they really are the best!"

Lucy Johnson launched the GG's Treasures gift shop in Beach Terrace Road, Hunstanton, two years ago.
But she has now achieved another dream - of opening her own coffee shop.
The site has proven an instant hit, selling out on the first weekend open.
She wanted to create a "relaxing" space to "meet friends for a catch-up over a nice coffee and a slice of cake".
