Pensioner's fury over council's tenancy change SEVEN years after ex-wife moves out
John Peacock, who lives in a council-owned home, claims Norwich City Council made an "error" over his tenancy because the authority was unaware his ex-wife had moved out - despite her moving into another council-owned home in Norwich.
The 74-year-old says he has now received a letter from the authority saying it was "unable to offer him a sole tenancy" of his three-bedroom family home where his grandchildren regularly visit.
Under his new agreement, Mr Peacock is required to pay £128.83 a week - a substantial increase from his £196 every four weeks - and he has to "actively seek alternative accommodation".
