The bus lane off Poethlyn Drive has bollards that can be lowered for busses and emergency services, but neighbours living near it say it is hardly used.

Newly elected Reform councillor Mr Henson highlighted if the bus lane were to be opened it would need to be widened to allow for traffic in both directions, which he explained would be costly.

It comes after South Norfolk Labour MP Ben Goldsborough took up neighbours' campaign to get an alternative route into the estate.

Mr Henson said: "Reform does back it but we inherited £920m in debt from the previous council which means we need to prioritise people in our constituencies in the sense of health and wellbeing, doctors, nurses.

"If Ben wishes to come up with an alternative to the funding for it, I would be one to back it left, right and centre."
