Heartbreak over 'flagship' crematorium overgrown with thistles and weeds

They say they are heartbroken at the condition of St Faiths Crematorium, which is run by the Crematorium and Memorial Group, part of Dignity UK.

Funeral directors are now advising their clients on the state of the crematorium which has led to families declining to have their loved one's ashes buried there.

It is understood the number of staff maintaining the grounds - which stretches for more than 10 acres in Horsham St Faith - has declined to just two people. Previously there were up to nine people looking after the site.

Dignity UK say they are taking action to address the concerns.

'Nothing short of neglect'

Paul Fisher, a managing director at Ivan Fisher Independent Funeral Home, has been using the crematorium, which opened in the 1930s, for more than 20 years.
