Garden centre cafe to get a major revamp in the summer

Brenda Groucott, who runs Wymondham Garden Centre with her husband Gary, said the Four Seasons Coffee Shop will be "completely re-designed" this summer with some of the changes to include new seating and new counters.

She said: "The restaurant hasn’t changed since we opened it 10 years ago, so this is quite exciting for us."

The couple have also introduced some new ranges at the centre too, including garden furniture, clothing and "some fabulous new gift ranges," according to Mrs Groucott.

Customers can also expect a spruce up on the way for the garden centre after planning officials gave the all-clear for Mr Groucott to install two portacabins near it.

Mr Groucott's application, which was submitted to South Norfolk Council in October last year, detailed how he also wanted to reposition an access track on land adjacent to the market town's garden centre.

One of the portacabins will be used as an office, while the other will be used for storage.

The news of the major changes comes after a fire broke out at the couple's other business, Aylsham Garden Centre, which remains closed.

Mrs Groucott said: "We hope to be open in a couple of weeks. We have a lot of cleaning up and clearing to do.

"The fire was not huge, but we have substantial smoke and soot damage."

She added: "We are working behind the scenes to open as quickly as we can.

"It’s been a frustrating and upsetting few weeks but our team have been fantastic. Their support has been amazing."

Fire crews from Aylsham and Sprowston spent nearly an hour at the scene after the blaze broke out.

No one was injured in the blaze.
