Revealed: A fifth of those who challenge their council tax get money off their bill
Data from HM Revenue and Customs Valuation Office has revealed that last year almost 500 people in Norfolk complained that their home was in the wrong band - the category by which council tax is calculated.
For 99 people, officials ended up putting the property in lower bands, reducing their bills.
However, an unlucky handful did end up seeing their homes moved up a band and their tax bills increase.

Growing numbers of people are thought to be challenging their council tax banding, following campaigning from Martin Lewis, the consumer champion and founder of Money Saving Expert, and the increasing squeeze on the cost of living.
Mr Lewis has claimed that thousands of homes are likely to be in the wrong bands and launched his Check and Challenge campaign, to encourage people to question their banding.
He said: "Many parts of the council tax system are broken, and I’ve been calling for some fixes for getting on for 20 years.
"The stop-gap 1991 re-valuation that was first done in England and Scotland is still what dictates your council tax price today.
