Farmers urged to vaccinate animals against 'devastating' bluetongue threat
More than 370 cases of the potentially-fatal animal virus have been confirmed in England and Wales during the current season - mainly in the south-west.
But concerns are growing that it could spread into other regions, including East Anglia.
James Runciman, who farms at Croxton, near Fakenham, said bluetongue cost his business an estimated £20,000 when his cattle became infected during a previous outbreak in spring 2025.
