The region recorded the country's highest volume of publicly-listed farmland sales in the first six months of 2026, according to Savills’ latest half-year farmland report.

The 13,974 acres put up for sale in the East represents a 13pc increase compared to the same period in 2025, and is more than any other region in the UK.

By comparison, the national figure dropped by 12pc year-on-year to a total of 88,100 acres of farmland publicly........
