North Norfolk Council has agreed plans to convert the property at Great Snoring, near Fakenham.

The parish council objected, saying the scheme was "too large" for its location on Walsingham Road and "not aesthetically in keeping with the the rest of the village".

No other objections were received and a planning officer's report said the building was of "limited architectural value".

A heritage statement says the barn was built in the mid 20th century to store a combine harvester, but farm machinery has grown larger since then and it now remains empty.

"A new long-term use for the building is required to secure its future as part of the history of the evolution of agriculture in the village," it adds.
