Fresh plans have been lodged to bring new life to Argyle Street once blighted by subsidence.
The scheme would see new homes built on the site of properties that had to be demolished after ground movement left them unsafe, forcing locals out and leaving a long‑standing gap in the street.
Developers say the project is aimed at replacing lost housing with modern, better‑designed properties and finally resolving safety concerns that have dogged the area.
Planners will weigh up the benefits of regeneration and new homes against issues such as design, access and the challenge of building again on land with a history of subsidence.
