Annual event to explore how East of England will power the UK in next 25 years

31.03.2026

Organised by the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), the two-day event will highlight the region’s production of homegrown energy, as well as plans for carbon capture and storage and hydrogen at Bacton Energy Hub.

It will also celebrate EEEGR’s 25 years of supporting the energy supply chain and industry for Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex since it was set up in 2001, with around 1,500 delegates and 70 exhibitors expected to attend.

Key topics will include the region's critical role in achieving UK energy self-sufficiency; the shape of the industry and its workforce in 2050; how to navigate the path there; and potential challenges and obstacles in the way.

With events in the Middle East causing oil price rises and a fifth of the world’s oil supplies trapped in the Middle East, the event – themed ‘The Next 25 Years’ – comes as the UK looks at how it can be powered by its own energy without importing supplies.
