Historic Norfolk hotel wins THREE awards including hotel of the year
The Maids Head Hotel, in Norwich’s Tombland, was named Hotel of the Year at this year’s Suffolk and Norfolk Tourism Awards.
The hotel, which claims to be the UK’s oldest, dating back more than 800 years, also won the Taste of England and Unsung Hero Award.

The awards celebrate the visitor economy across both counties, with the 2026 ceremony being held at the Corn Hall in Diss on March 12.
The Unsung Hero Award was presented to head housekeeper Mandy Ames, who has dedicated more than 35 years of service to the 84-bedroom hotel.
“I am lost for words,” she said. “I had no idea I had been nominated until I was told I was a finalist - I’m absolutely thrilled.”
