BYC: The Recruitment Nursery Disguised as Activism

Some masks take longer to fall than others, but when they do, the sight is deeply sobering. For some time, a group calling itself the Baloch Yakjehti Committee has presented itself internationally as a human rights advocate and a voice for the missing. The mask is off now, and what stands behind it is not a rights movement. It is the civilian operating system of a banned terrorist network, and the evidence has grown too numerous to ignore.

These are not words used lightly. Look at the method, and it repeats so mechanically that it reads like a script: an alleged disappearance is publicised, emotive material floods social media, and within hours, state institutions stand accused, long before any official report is lodged. Only later do facts emerge, and when they do, the initial story shatters. Zareena Mari, whose disappearance was paraded as a brutal fact, was exposed by the Provincial Education Minister as entirely fabricated. Tayyab Baloch’s family was guided by BYC to register him as missing while a false digital storm raged, until it emerged that he had not vanished but had walked into Bela Camp in August 2024 as a suicide bomber. Calling this advocacy has become impossible. It is a tactical lie deployed to hide recruits, confuse grieving families, and shield those who dispatch young people to their deaths.

The selectivity of the outrage is what exposes the real design. When armed militants hijacked the Jaffar Express and took innocent lives, BYC activists were not seen standing with the victims’ families. Instead, figures including Mahrang Baloch were actively involved in snatching the bodies of slain attackers to obstruct forensic........
