English tourist tax plea as council tax payers get 'unfair' deal
A parliamentary committee has cautioned the Labour administration that residents are becoming increasingly frustrated with council tax increases across their localities. They've called for a complete reform of the "unfair and regressive" council tax structure, and urged ministers to grant councils the authority to devise strategies better tailored to their regions - including the introduction of a visitor levy.
