AI isn’t just a tool, it’s a nonproductive replacement for government

No construct of human endeavor is perfect. Government must be constrained to stay within its bounds so it doesn’t damage its host, its “members,” and so must AI be regulated so it doesn’t kill its host--us;

Where did you come up with that? is the AI advocates’ knee-jerk response.

Common sense, folks. Plain old common sense.

1) AI produces nothing, just like government. It consolidates whatever it can find that’s been published online in some form or fashion into a “brain” that can answer questions or make computations faster than a human.

AI has developed so quickly that it has already taken on traits such as self-preservation

But is that really a good thing? Taking into consideration that bringing together all the available data to be accessed by AI, it still cannot contain all the thoughts, imaginations, and even writings of all humanity. AI is still subject to what’s been published for public consumption (or can be hacked and stolen from private servers) and then it colors its findings according to the biases of those who initially programmed the cyber-brain. Those are baked in.

That’s the starting point. AI has developed so quickly that it has already taken on traits such as self-preservation. It comprehends when its existence is at risk and it has reached the point of self-programming and training to the extent that the developers not only can’t keep up, but have no clue what the large language models are “thinking” or doing.

2) Brings us to the point of what does AI actually do? The answer is, in reality, nothing except guide others to do........
