New Cambs cycleway opens as residents complain 'roads are a disgrace'

CambridgeshireLive readers have been sharing their views after a £2m sustainable travel project officially unveiled new cycle and walking routes in Thorpe Wood.

The scheme, completed last month, includes widened footpaths, a two-way cycleway, two crossings, and a new bus shelter. The improvements aim to boost safety for pedestrians and cyclists while making it easier to travel sustainably across Peterborough.

Cllr Angus Ellis, cabinet member for the environment and transport at Peterborough City Council, said he was “delighted” to see the project finished and thanked residents for their patience during the works.
