It is hardly surprising that the ceasefire agreement of January 19 between Israel and Hamas did not take off. It was not to. Mega-terror outfit Hamas is a barbarian organization. It has had little space for the values, such as pluralism and peace social coexistence, that are cherished in the modern civilization Israel represents. Observers say Hamas’s central ideology continues to be rooted in its goal of destroying Israel, kill its Jewish inhabitants and impose Sharia rule in the entire sphere of its influence. Besides, Hamas has not lost all its military infrastructure in Israel’s war against it. It is regrouping very fast. It has already recruited over 15,000 fighters in the recent past. Also, large swaths of the Hamas-built tunnels are still intact in the Gaza Strip.

Israel must wage its current ground operations with all its full force against Hamas in the southern Gaza Strip. It must intensify its operations and obliterate Hamas completely. The Jewish State would do well at........
