US President Donald J Trump’s recent threat to bomb Iran if Tehran does not make a deal with Washington to curb its nuclear program is nonsense. The very nature of the current radical Shiite regime in Iran inclines it to acquire nuclear weapons and use them to advance its radical agenda in the Middle East and the world. The Islamist regime cannot act otherwise and is bound to pursue its nuclear weapon capability.

Observers say President Trump’s letter of March 7, 2025, delivered through Oman, to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and urging the latter for nuclear negotiations was is meaningless today. By now Iran already has more than 600 pounds of uranium enriched up to 60 percent.

Tehran can construct a bomb within days. Its stocks of enriched uranium and centrifuge capacity are........
