PAPER TRAILS: Grammy-winning Pine Bluff bluesman still in spotlight at age 92
Bluesman Bobby Rush is having a moment, and he's making people decades younger seem like slackers.
Last year, the 92-year-old performed harmonica parts for the character Delta Slim in director Ryan Coogler's acclaimed, Oscar-winning film "Sinners." His 2025 album, "Young Fashioned Ways," with guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd, finds Rush sounding half his age and energetic as ever. The record was nominated for Best Traditional Blues Album at this year's Grammy Awards, making it Rush's eighth nomination (he's won three times).
