Decide now to take steps forward

Do you make new year's resolutions? Many of us do, but most of the time we don't write them down. You get winded climbing a single flight of stairs, and your body tells you, "Work out! You are in terrible shape!" Then you read an article that says you don't need to do 10,000 steps a day to get the exercise you need; 4,000 steps will help get you a lot of the same benefits. You agree. You have just made a resolution.

If we are honest when evaluating our physical and mental states, we can use focus and willpower to live better and probably longer lives.

A few years back I resolved to add 10,000 steps a day, at least five days a week, to my workout schedule. I failed. There were some days I succeeded, but on average I had selected an exercise routine that was........
