The calendar says "new releases," but what you're really tracking is what manages to stay in circulation. The theatrical window narrows, the streaming run blurs into everything else, and then, a little later, certain films re-appear in a form that suggests they might outlast the moment that produced them. Not most. But enough to make the exercise worthwhile.
