'Treason is war for external interests': Lebanon’s Aoun hits back at Hezbollah
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun rejects Hezbollah’s criticism of talks with Israel, insisting negotiations are aimed at ending hostilities and saying “treason” is taking the country to war for external interests.

Lebanon’s president sought to normalize fledgling talks with Israel on Monday by rejecting Hezbollah’s claim that engagement with the Israeli side is an act of concession.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said during a meeting with a delegation from south Lebanon that Lebanon rejects any suggestion that it is making concessions and insisted Israel has no reason for continued military action on Lebanese territory.
